Book 3 of 4 Gen’s secret is out. The caravan is in shambles. The Chalaine is wed to the Ha’Ulrich and pregnant with the Holy Child. Dangers abound, the Uyumaak threatening to overtake and destroy the Chalaine and her companions as they desperately try to escape the Shroud Lake Shard. Split from Gen, the Chalaine must find a way to work with her husband before their mutual animosity tears the prophecy apart.
Meanwhile, Mirelle battles Padra Athan behind the scenes to free the man she loves more than anyone. Gen and his fugitive allies know that even if they escape the shard and the Uyumaak that hunt them, the Ha’Ulrich and Padra Athan will be waiting to destroy them on the other side.

There are four books in “The Trysmoon Saga” series. They are one long story. Be prepared to read them all. The four books in order are Ascension, Duty, Hunted, Sacrifice.5 stars for Ascension. Exciting wonderful journey following Gen an orphan. The evil local magistrate bullies and harms Gen and others. Warlord Khairn comes to town killing many. Khairn forces Gen to learn to fight. There are magical creatures and healers in this world. It reminds me of Lord of the Rings with a little Harry Potter.
4 stars for books 2 and 3, Duty and Hunted. Still very good as they continue Gen’s story.
3 ½ stars - maybe 4 stars for the last book Sacrifice. There were sooo many battles and journeys. The main characters fight, flee and survive one obstacle, then an emergency happens and they are fighting something else. I was getting a little weary of battle after battle. But the overall story and how it ended was worthwhile. The evil god Mikkik was close to destroying all the good in the world. The epilogue was fun and very feel good.

Trysmoon Book 3 Hunted The Trysmoon Saga eBook Brian Fuller Reviews
(Contains some spoilers). The series started out with possibility however this book killed it for me. I actually started to wish for the he main character to die just to stop annoying me with his stupudity. He is initially touted to have superior intelligence and has been trained to be a warrior without peer. Somehow in this book he steps into dumb sutuation after dumb situation and appears to lose his combat ability as it suits the author to move the plot along.
How many times can the main character get trounced by some random priest who merely has to chant a short spell to completely overwhelm him before he realises that he should stop charging blindly into them for no reason whatsoever.
Additonally, what is with his sudden bursts of morality? He happily slays left right and center, then all of a sudden he won't kill an enemy who has threatend his loved ones and allows himself to again be captured.
And the final insult, the ressurection scene. Epic levels of stupidity!
He has the power to level the Keep, kill the priests and rescue his friends but no, he ressurects his hated enemy because of some vague promise made under duress, before belatedly rescuing his friends and for no reason at all leaving all the priests that were torturing his friends, alive and unharmed to continue plotting againt him.
I am aware that the author is trying to move the plot along. But seriously don't give a character powers, abilities and morals if you are going to randomly ignore them througout the story whenever convenient .
Overall, this book is not as good as the first two While the story continues to twist surprisingly, there are fewer moments to savor. Things happen swiftly with less suspense. There are more errors and rough patches that need editing. It is missing the depth of character growth and interaction I appreciated in the previous installments. The ending is definitely a cliff hanger to get readers to buy the next book in the series.
However, this third book is still worth reading as many conflicts are resolved, if somewhat partially. The characters are engaging, and their struggles are compelling enough for me to read the next book to find out what will happen.
I really enjoyed the series, but admit that I did get weary of poor Gen and the Chalaine never being able to get much of a break. They go from one disaster to another. A roller coaster of excitement! If a person can't handle the excitement, then they should opt for some cookie cutter romance story, one where you know what will happen next.
Okay I like the series in general and I would say this series over all is 3 3/4 stars, this one was a little more happy after the long, long quest to the (***) in book 2, but overall I'm actually getting tired of it by the end of this book 3, I'm in 4 now and I am disappointed in some predictabilities but I'm finishing the series, others say they liked the ending. This series had some originalities that were different than the other series I have read.
However I will admit about 1/2 way through book 1 I was literally a chapter away from bailing on it, very close, but suddenly the main hero after enduring through a very fast and intense (kind of weird) trial becomes very interesting to read about when he shows up in "public".
The pattern for this series has been that the story moves along and then after quite a while some relatively huge incident occurs which is the "catalyst" to a significant increase in knowledge about the world for the reader. It has happened a number of times where the world which is not epic but after another explosive event becomes much more filled in and then pieced together with significant increases in sudden knowledge and use of magic and world-builder made physics. The main hero is fun to read about and the dialogue and relationships (including the "romantic" parts amazingly) are actually pretty fun reading. It is pretty clean by the way, I'd say ok for children other than the violence which is very normal for this genre of book.
At the point I'm at now, it's like I'm worn out from the evil side heavily controlling the "good" people and without giving anything away, was irritated at the timing and where the story was left at the end of a few of the books. There were times where even though the characters interplay kept me interested I was wondering when they were going to get to their destination or to some point of change or release.
A final note, the solar system angle of the story was pretty original and very interesting and I wish the writer would have expended more energy into describing it visually and spatially. I was envisioning really cool ideas with that part of the world but the author didn't seem to bring out those types of ideas associated with the "planets and moons issues" which the author just used the simple (****) idea for "getting around", there is a lot to work with with his ideas there. More 3 dimensional visuals associated with the plot would have expanded a part of the book adding drastically to although not epic but at least the world that was built by the author. The main hero despite his sufferings and ability to ignore severe suffering, sure had it good with some other of the characters.
